Whiff-Waffle Volunteer Crafting Guide

The Whiff-Waffle: A Pocket-Sized Powerhouse

The Goal: Providing a high-quality mental workout without the heavy lifting.

The Team: Handcrafted by Mojo Projects.

The Design: A durable 3D-printed core tucked inside a handcrafted fabric sleeve.

The Whiff-Waffle is a specialized sensory tool we use to scale down the science of enrichment into a portable “nugget.” By combining a rugged internal skeleton with a plush outer layer, we create a professional-grade challenge that rewards pets for tossing, nuzzling, and carrying their trophies. It is built for simplicity and impact, making it incredibly easy for pet parents to refill with favorite treats while keeping natural instincts sharp.

How to Build a Waffle (Mojo Projects Instructions)

1. Printing the Skeleton

The Mojo Projects team starts by 3D printing a compact, cylindrical core. This skeleton is designed with multiple scent vents and treat chambers to ensure the reward is always just out of reach but high in aroma.

2. Tailoring the Sleeve

We take high-quality fabric scraps and sew them into a tight-fitting “pocket.” The dimensions are calculated to ensure the fabric stays put during high-intensity play, using the natural friction of the material to grip the 3D-printed core.

3. The Marriage of Materials

The 3D-printed core is inserted into the handcrafted sleeve. This requires a bit of manual “wrestling” to ensure the fit is professional and tight, ensuring no hardware or adhesives are ever needed to keep the unit together.

4. The Scent-Vent Check

Once the sleeve is on, we verify that the scent holes in the core align with the fabric’s natural breathability. This ensures that the Morsel Menagerie treats inside can be easily detected by the curious noses of the Canine Crew or Feline Fellowship.

5. The Tumble Test

Give the Whiff-Waffle a few good tosses across the workbench. If the core stays tucked inside its armor and the unit bounces reliably, it is ready to be sent out as a portable mission for a very lucky resident.

A Friendly Reminder: Please keep an eye on your pets while they play. No toy lasts forever! Check the sleeve for any wear and tear regularly, and simply toss the fabric in the wash whenever it needs a refresh to keep the mission sanitary and safe.
