Vice President: Lead Steward of The Living Systems & Material Synthesis

🐾Profile: Lisa Norquist Carey

Primary Designer of the Mission Framework and Lead of Facilities
Strategic Planner • Systems Builder • Community Voice

I’m the person who makes sure the foundation is literally “alive.” While others might see a bug or a bag of soil, I see the fuel and the foundation of our entire ecosystem. As the Lead Steward, I manage the “Living Systems” teams, ensuring our specialized insect colonies are thriving and our biological resources are high-quality and sustainable. I also head up our Material Synthesis department, leading the Artisans and Textile Architects who turn raw materials into handcrafted gear and assets for the mission.

My expertise isn’t just academic; it’s lived. I manage my own “Whole Kingdom” at home, shared with my family, five dogs, two bearded dragons, and my cat. On top of my leadership at the foundation, I am a highly specialized breeder of hedgehogs. This deep, personal immersion in animal husbandry is what makes me a no-nonsense leader for this mission. Whether I’m calibrating a biological system or directing a new craft project, I’m here to ensure every living creature in our community is treated with the prestige and expert care they deserve.
