The Grime Gallery: Masterpieces in Mud

At the Grime Gallery, we don’t just “have” dirt—we curate it. While most people see a pile of mud, our Muck Managers see the foundation of the Whole Kingdom. We don’t buy bags of soil from the big-box stores because we’re much pickier than that. Instead, we build our own “Elite Earth” from scratch using a top-secret recipe of natural scraps and community contributions.

The biggest secret to our success is how we handle “organic leftovers.” When our animals leave behind a little something in their bedding, we don’t throw it away; we see it as a high-value donation. We put all that waste through a prestigious composting process that breaks everything down until it’s clean, rich, and ready to feed the plants. It’s the ultimate way to recycle. By turning yesterday’s messes into tomorrow’s masterpieces, we make sure our garden has a five-star foundation. This is how we keep the Leafy Lodge lush and our Hero Crops happy without ever needing a drop of chemicals.

The Daily Deposit: Approved Sources for Elite Mud

We are always scouting for new “fuel” to help our garden grow, and that includes the very best animal poop Hastings has to offer! We accept donations of manure and used bedding from a specific list of neighbors to turn into our garden gold. Since our Muck Managers are experts at the long-game of composting, we can take these messy gifts and turn them into the richest dirt on the planet.

We are currently looking for “contributions” from:

  • Horses (we’ll take the bedding too!)
  • Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, and Mice
  • Chickens, Ducks, and other Feathered Friends
  • Goats, Sheep, and Alpacas

If you have a mountain of these materials and your shovel is tired, let us know! In certain cases, our team of Wranglers can head out to help you collect and transport these “deposits.” By sharing these resources, you’re helping us grow the fresh snacks that fill our pantry and keep the community’s pets thriving.

A Polite Note on “Unruly” Waste

To keep our Grime Gallery prestigious and safe, we have to be a little bit snobby about what goes into the pile. We cannot accept any waste from our meat-eating or “everything-eating” household friends like dogs or cats. Their leftovers require a much different set of rules and a lot more paperwork than we’re currently looking to handle. For now, we’re sticking to the plant-eaters to keep our “Nutrient Loop” clean and simple.

The Mud-Moving Mission: Collection Assistance

We know that cleaning up after a stable full of horses, a troop of goats, or even a very busy group of rabbits is a lot of heavy lifting. If you have a pile of manure or a mountain of bedding that you’d love to donate, but the physical labor feels like too much—especially for our neighbors who are dealing with health concerns or just don’t have the extra muscle—the foundation is ready to jump in.

Our Chaos Wranglers are experts at “Resource Recovery” (which is just a fancy way of saying we aren’t afraid to get our hands dirty). We have a dedicated crew that can occasionally come directly to your property to help scoop, bag, and load those donations for you. Since our team is small and we’re busy keeping the Grime Gallery in top shape, these “House Calls” depend on who is available. By letting us help you tidy up your space, you’re giving us the fuel we need to grow snacks for the whole community. It’s a win-win for everyone!

How to Book a Muck-Out

Check the Source: Make sure your “deposits” come from our list of approved neighbors—horses, rabbits, poultry, or small livestock.

Give Us a Ring: Contact the foundation to let us know how much material you have and where you’re located in the Hastings area.

Launch the Wranglers: We will check the schedule to see when we can deploy a team to your site. We’ll coordinate a time that works for you so we can get in, get the goods, and get out of your way!
